what she meant is, sticky tires fling rocks and shit anyway so painting>protective rock chip preventing undercoating for weight purposes.
Been a while since the last update. The DSM/Evo/GTR Shootout was awesome this year! Perfect weather, and a huge attendance. Like always, the Dsport guys wanted to know what we’ve been up to… and they wanted their lens focused on our project! We got the car to fire up just an hour and a half before we all left for Ohio! AEM’s Series 1 box isn’t quite as forgiving as the Series 2, so we overnighted the new ECU… chased down some wiring… and after quite a few long nights, magic happened and she started up and drove out of the shop!
With no time for tuning before the event, we got home, settled back in and got back at it… but, some engine sensors and pulleys were still not quite right for this unique build… so out the motor came, more magic happened, and today on the dyno she was roaring like a Subaru was meant to!
631 HP 467 TQ. 32 psi, not even trying yet.
This should be a good start for a few track passes! Hang on to your shorts, Ben!
Are what you have been posting on instagram all videos of the pulls ? I should probably update the app so I can actually watch them
I’m going over the videos now, and making them into a quicktime, then to youtube, so you can all see them They aren’t great videos, but she roars, for sure!
Uploading to youtube! Nothing fancy or artsy, but you’ll feel it.
Impressive!
Congrats to the crew! First pass out of the trailer and on this setup went 9.1 at 158. And trapped as high as 163 today. I have a feeling the 6 speed Subaru record of 8.68 isn’t gonna stay that way for very long…not bad for a DSM/Evo shops first Subaru build I’d say.
Big congrats to Ben Marcus and his 2000 Impreza RS project! First full pass off the trailer we saw a 9.1 @ 158! Best trap of the day was a 162.98. The dyno graph the day before yielded 715 HP and 542 TQ. Don’t worry, we are not done yet, so stay tuned for more track days before the season ends!
We would all like to give Ben a huge thank you for trusting his Subaru project in the hands of a Mitsubishi shop! It is awesome to be part of your project, Ben, and an even greater honor to have you on our team!

Apparently the MPH was too much… the time slips were dated in the future! Which is annoying, but everyone is obviously free to call the track to verify. I don’t know what they did to the computer in the tower.
