Proposed Increases on Health Insurance Premiums

[SIZE=2]New York state is facing a multi-billion dollar budget shortfall and lawmakers are suggesting increasing taxes on health insurance to help reduce this deficit. Governor Paterson’s proposed 2009-2010 state budget seeks to add an additional $481 million to health insurance taxes.

Higher taxes on health insurance will result in higher health care costs for all New Yorkers. As the cost of health care escalates, so will the number of New Yorkers who can no longer afford coverage.

You can make a difference. Legislators need to hear from you. Please write your Legislators, asking them to reject higher taxes on health insurance.

By following the link below, and typing in your address, an e-mail will automatically be generated to your Legislators, allowing your voice to be heard.

TRY TO PASS THIS ON

talk about counterintuitive.

:picard:

“I want everything for freeeeeeeeeee”

Frontline was good last night talking about the squandering of the Federal surplus and the various views it…

If you cant get to it let me know… I was told its external but you never know…

Kinda funny with what that guy said last night about health care costs “We need to lower the cost”

deal is if this passes they will need to lay people off here

I’m not signing something blindly (no pun intended).

show me where Patterson makes a claim like this so I can form my own opinion. Not somebody else’s words that say they heard Patterson proposing this.

I’m always most skeptical of the healthcare industry lobby.

We had an interesting presentation yesterday about the Presidental promise to lower health care costs and its impact on industry.

Well, it started with a video clip showing every president back to Johnson making the same proclimation/promise.

this is like 3.6 trillion pages long so I need to find the page … I was told is was in the “154” area (meh)

give me about an hour

So in order to pay for our bloated state healthcare and stuff, we’re considering an increase in tax on private healthcare that will force more people onto the public system that we can’t afford? :awdrifter:

lol true story Jim

we don’t know that yet, so far you’re just going on somebody else’s very biased words.

“PROPOSED” as in the title …

FUCK REALLY

Really

but you don’t know if he has proposed anything, do you?

OMG

:hitsaltf4:

my bigger point is there is some definite spin going on here. what lobby have you blindly signed you name for?

Then don’t do it…

I am not making you do this

question: do you always form opinions after listening to just one side of the argument?

you obviously don’t know patterson’s intent… you just sign on the line because somebody said “MOAR TAXES PLZ”

I wonder if this is the healthcare lobby being pissed about this mess:

HERE HUN

Click on Heath Care and Mental Health …

and lick my sack when done

how does that help you?

the overwhelming theme is that Patterson wants to cut NY’s health care expenses which have spiraled out of control. I see shit closing down, benefits limited.

show me/quote one of the examples that supports your claim (it’s now your claim since you’ve written Patterson personally) Everything is very reasonable, really. We should have done this years ago.

you must not pay for your own health insurance or you just don’t understand the costs (admin, what the real cost for your coverage is and such)

here is more for you

do you see a problem here:

I’m all ears for your solution, but Patterson’s is not so bad.
