pully

http://stillen.com/product_detail.aspx?sku=408222-S

is that worth buying or will it just mess stuff up

what mods do you have done?

if you don’t have full exhaust, intake, header…i would go with those first.

intake is done header is on its way and exasut it next to order… im just trying to get a price list of shit to order next spring and i was wondering if the pully is worth it

Never buy anything from $tillen.

And yes, you see better gains from a header, exhaust and intake. All much less work to install.

ok im aware that i get better power gains form that stuff…

after those are done… is this worth it to buy… and why is stillen so bad

its expensive for what you get

What is your idea of worth?

It is only a couple hp:

For me it is something to consider, not only for the slight hp gains but also to prevent the water pump from cavitation. However, I probably would only see .1-.2 secs off of lap times. Where as new tires would get 1.5-2 secs of lap times. So comparatively it is not worth it.

Personally I’d do the tires first, suspension next (struts, springs, bushings, swaybars) , then brakes (pad, fluid, lines), then breathing (intake, header, exhaust), then clutch (something mild like “stage II or III”) maybe a flywheel, and then towards the bottom of the list pulleys.

They mark up everything, then you call them and act all buddy like thay are giving you a deal. In reality they charge maybe 2-5% more than a cheaper source.

so bascially ignore the pully al together and just get my intake, header, full exaust done …

ok then without nitrous or turbo… how do i get more hp

can some people gimmie some ideas

uhm learn to drive the car before you get more power.

but bump in compression, head, cams, increase on displacement, tuning

ya cams was my next thing… problem is i would need somebody to do them casue thats 1 thing i cant do on my own

^
I’ll give my same speech on save mod money and use it to auto-X and track days. Not only will your car get faster, because you drive better, but it is a “mod” that you can take to any car you drive.

Cams are relatively easy to do for a OHC car.

IMO it is pretty much a waste to build a NA Sentra for power, unless you have something down to 2200 pounds and have a VE in it.

How many miles are on your motor? One thing to consider is that the stock pulley you’d be removing has a dampener on it and this one doesn’t. If you have an old motor with worn crank bearings, you’re going to accelerate the death of your motor.

And that price is kinda high - I can get the same UR brand pulley for my car, with all 3 belts I need for under $190.

Wait, nevermind I didn’t read ‘02-05’ altima / sentra so it’s likely you have few miles on your car and I don’t know if those motors are internally dampened or not.

Also, as for power like everyone said, don’t expect much. Where it says “… a Nissan 300ZX twin-turbo saw gains as high as 37 HP and 45 lbs.-ft. on the dyno…” you can’t expect the same gains off of your car.

i didnt expect that much horse . im not a complete idoit… … i guess i will just do my exaust header and intake … cause i guess without adding nitrous i wont gain anymore power

Oh come on, that pulley would cost at least $40.00 to make.
