w/ hindsight being 20/20, why dont we use vietnam as an example of what we should do for capturing osama.
in vietnam, our troops could only chase the vc so far due to the vc being able to hop borders into laos or cambodia, or get to a dmz area. granted, we had secret bombing missions, but that dont do shit when u fight a guerilla war. kinda like playing tag and calling a time out… if we Really want osama, we have to be prepared to go all out. not some pansy half ass attempt to get him, yet we leave “outs” for him. As far as i see it, any soldier who has had the misfortune of being klilled in action right now has been killed for nothing, as we are no closer today as we were when we entered the war on terrorism of accomplishing our goal. if your gonna cost our soldiers lives, you better show results.
as for iraq, i still dont see any need to be there. we have found no wmd’s, our main reason for being there. anymore, iraq seems like it was bush’s way of getting troops over closer to osama. However, i feel that alot of americans feel we are in iraq due to terroists, which we are not/were not there for to begin w/.
sailor you always have good points lets think here. in WW2 we had allies on both sides so hitler was stuck. do you think we would have continued to follow him if he didn’t commit suicide? I doubt it.
also veitnam was a war that we shouldn’t have fought cause we didn’t save the south. somolia was another democrat blunder. don’t blame our president because he is not the only one making the calls. it comes down to intel and people on the ground. the president is only as good as the information he is given.
I do truely believe that iraq had WMD’s also really think the syrians or iranians and even possibly the lebonese(sp) have them now. I think trucks from sat. photos goin over the boarder were weapons.
as for bin laden is there any real proof he is still alive or dead? some video that can’t be athenticated on a time frame. I think he is probably alive but who really knows.
either way I KNOW the fighting in the middle east will never stop, but that doesn’t mean that we let them do what they want. we are the most powerful fearless nation on earth lets start acting like it
like I said in my post do you know he isn’t dead. this nation does a lot of covert shit that you and I don’t know about. for all we know he could be in afgan and being tortured daily
50 dead and climbing… arab papers are saying “that sucks… BUT… you brought it on yourself bc helping america and israel counts as terrorism too”
dude i don’t even know what to think now a days… i mean it’s hard to win a war when the evil side can do and say whatever they want without any fear of reprisal. but the good guys have to fight with one hand behind their back and can’t even say a negative word about the ‘bad guys’ or they are racist or bigots.
Thanks Soldiers, good luck, shoot first ask questions later (rather see you alive than “right”)
edit: anyone see where the too dudes that were arrested for kidnapping that girl in aruba may sue for libel agst her mom calling them criminals… fuckin world we live in http://washingtontimes.com/upi/20050707-081253-1966r.htm
If we held grudges like that, I’d have to hate Germans for killing my mom’s people, Britain for killing my dad’s people, Britain would have to hate us for revolting 229 years ago, the French and Indians would have to hate us for kicking their asses 250 years ago, et cetera…
If my kid works for an Iraqi car company, my only concern is that the pay is adequate.
actually everything about bin laden that hero said was accurate… perhaps you needed the history lesson to get all your facts straight
just a guess, but an attack of that proportion, meaning 4 bombs in one hour’s time, i highly doubt was planned in 12 hours, and now they’re saying that there were two more that did not detonate. My guess was due to the g8 summit
It was never declared that saddam said he did not have weapons of mass destruction, nor did he say that he did. Saddam was scared to death of bin laden, so when the U.S. said that they needed to have saddam hand over the weapons or we’d attack, he simply didn’t want to say that he didn’t have them b/c it made him look weak and vulnerable to terrostic attacks. So it’s not like we don’t have business being there, it’s just that now we don’t really have an exit plan. So to say he was not a threat to us is arguable, but he certainly was a horrible man who needed to be brought to justice
my reading comprehension is on cue, you clearly were being sarcastic when in fact this is the truth, maybe not the waltons part, but the fact that the bin laden fortune originally began due to hard work, that’s quite factual, construction to be more exact. chump huh? and obviously you’re e-thug from monroeville, therefore there’s no reasoning with you. perhaps at a undercar neon comp. at miracle mile, your facts are accurate, but your ignorance is fascinating. Go watch the daily show and come back with some more of your on target witty responses :tool:
but think about it, all those leaders were in one place at the same time… if you were a terrorist, which would concern you more, people being happy about the olympics or an opportunity to make a single attack on one city that has various leaders from other countries there. that’s just my personal opinion.
yeah inheritance money, short selling stocks prior to his world trade towers attack, and construction schemes… read up before you look stupid next time. plus i’m about as far from thug as it gets do you want me to fax you a resume?
but the leaders weren’t in london anywhere near any of the bombs. if that is the case then they were really idiots because killing the average person doesn’t do much to stop the dealings of a country
I said that the bin laden family made their money through hard work…
The family traces its origins in Saudi Arabia to Sheikh Mohammed bin Laden (died 1968), a native of the Chafeite (Sunni) Hadramaut coast in Yemen, who emigrated to Arabia before World War I. He came to Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud’s attention through construction projects and was awarded contracts for major renovations at Mecca, where he made his initial fortune from exclusive rights to all mosque and other religious building construction not only in Saudi Arabia, but as far as Ibn Saud’s influence reached
