So while i was in Iraq i let my younger brother use my desktop. Now when i go turn it on it comes up to the password screen, I type in the password and the computer logs on pulls up the back round and then logs off back to the log in screen. So dose anyone have any ideas on what would cause this. Thanks, Sean
Could be a number of things.
Press F8 during the bootup (before you see the Windows load screen) and boot into Safe Mode. Does it do it there?
I agree with Ilya that it could be a number of things.
Most likely your computer has a boot file error. This can be caused from shutting the computer down by holding down the power button (quick or cold shutdown), or from having a power surge or blackout that would cause the PC to shut down unexpectedly.
Sometimes this can be fixed by running the OS installation disk for your computer.
It dose it in safe mode as well. And will useing the OS installation disk wipe everything off my comp?
Only if you do a reintallation. With the OS disk you can run a repair which will usually fix any boot files that have become damaged.
Now i dont have my original OS disk is there any where i can just pick one up?
