Question on an alternator

Well, long story short, my alternator (which was whining, and causing minor interference with the radio like crackling and popping, along with flickering of all interior lights) died out by 84supras house. luckily we had enough time for redconquesttsi to loan me the money, and go out and buy a new (lifetime warrenty) alternator from advance auto. I thought the whining and interference with the radio (you can actually hear it on the speakers softly) was due to the fact the alternator was going, but the new one does the same thing.

anybody have to deal with this? Anybody have any idea what it is thats causing my truck to eat alternators every 6 months?

trucks a 2000 s-10 v6 BTW

thanks

ground problem?

i was thinkin it could be that.

radio ground issue or speaker wires touching

“2000 s-10” … i think i found your problem …

Those trucks are well known for bad Alt.'s and Batt’s

Try checking your standing voltage ( truck off … no Acc on … it should be between 12.56-13.00 … anything less than that and you have a BAD batt … which in time will kill your Alt.)

trust me on this 1 i have a thing for electronics
