Questions about 240SX

Hey all. I’m new here. I am interested in purchasing a 1990 Nissan 240SX. It’s $2000 so not too bad a deal. In any case, I just wanted to know all the information on this car as possible. Most important of all, are these cars safe to drive in the winter? I ask due to the fact of the RWD. In any case, if that could be answered, that would be great. Also, ALL the info I could get on these cars would be killer. Thanks all!

RWD cars are only safe depending on the driver…

Are you familiar with the way RWD cars handle? Because 240sx’s are VERY prone to losing traction in the winter… which could be problematic for people who are new to driving or don’t have experience with RWD…

ya … nvr driven a RWD … so thats why i’m kinda sketchy on it, i guess you just gotta take it easy … but then again, thats just like any car in winter

ok lets word this differently cause i’ve got a feeling im not going to get the answer i’m looking for … how many of you drive your car in the winter?

every car is SAFE in the winter … every bmw is rwd out there… and they drive through winters … its the driver that is safe or not. so in the winter u should run good winter tires. theres already a thread on this… ppl said add a lil weight sand bags in the trunk etc.

and 1991+ would be better for winter as they have VLSD, so both wheels will turn in the snow, rather than 1 which can cause trouble starting off in ice/snow/hills…
