Quick PC question....

Ok buying a dual core while they are still out and about for the dieing socket 939…
I’m cheap so don’t say buy a new PC.
Anyways, I updated BIOS and drivers to the newest out, anything else I need to do besides plug and play?
It’s an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ 2.1 GHz Processor
My mobo supports AMD Athlon64, AMD Sempron and Athlon 64 X2 processors…

Anyways, anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks.

PS Upgrading from an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ so should be quite an upgrade…

You should be good to go!

Thanks! Just needed some reassurance before I pull it out and dive right into it, I’d be scared of the new startup!

Who needs to buy a whole new one when I can spend $150 and get a dual core and upgrade to 4gb ram?!

you should just go out and buy a new pc. amd x2 and core 2 duo processors are played out. it’s all about quad core.

Thought about building one when a AMD Phenom quad core too but if I can go cheaper and get along for a while…
