quick question on ka flywheel…
is it the same as the auto flywheel?
i did a search and it says you need the flywheel bolts
from the 5spd, but it was not to specific about the flywheel it self.

different flywheels
Automatic’s don’t have a flywheel, it’s a flexplate, iirc…
auto bolts are shorter then the manual bolts.
I have a manual flywheel… Will let it go for real cheap. Don’t even think about asking for delivery or meeting somewhere though.
yup, autos dont have a flywheel as they have a torque converter that does all that stuff, it is called a flex plate (as said above) and its only there so the starter can turn it to turn the engine over. if its an auto engine and youre mating it to a 5spd tranny you may want to double check and see if the pilot bearings are the same aswell.
pilot bushings are different.
Some people run the auto’s pilot bushing (sleeve), however I have also heard that they wear out and need to be replaced anyways.
good info. thanks for all the responses. i may end up going light weight for better
acceleration. thx all

the auto pilot bushing is wayy bigger and it sticks out of the crank, as for the manual one in basically inside the crank. are you sure it will work?
the bolts are the same thread just 5mm longer for the manual
