Hey guys i am swapping my KA for another KA as mine just died. I was wondering if i would have any issues because the new KA is from an automatic and my s13 is a manual, the guy i am buying from said i may have an issue with the starter motor because on the automatic it is on the transmission unlike the manual…
1)pull out the auto pilot pushing and buy/install a manual pilot bushing on the new engine.
2) swap the flywheel and engine backing plate from your engine over to the new one
3) bolt up your clutch stuff and tranny.
and as for the starter thingy. I never saw that myself, but it doesn’t matter cause you will be using your manual tranny and if there is some difference in starters, use yours. You will need to remove it when you removed the tranny anyway.
good call.
And to take the auto pilot bushing out get a metal rod that fits into it with force. then just start smashing on the end of the rod and she will slowing tuck the top out and then you can yank on the rod to get her out. I tryed a puller with a slide hammer but it didn’t work.
