Ka24e engine from a standard into Automatic

Hi all, Can a ka24e engine from a manual 1989 240sx go into a 1990 240sx Autmatic car?

Jerry

I don’t see why not.

If you are doing a straight engine swap, then yes, should be fine

If you are doing engine/tranny swap there are a few bugs u’ll have to work out.

The following links explain how to perferm auto-manual swaps:

Yes it can but you will need to take the flywheel off the automatic and put it on the new engine for they are different.

Its a straight engine swap…thanks for the info guys

Pretty much, as already noted you’ll need to change teh fltwheel for the auto flex plate. I expect you’ll also need to ues the throttle body off the automatic, and the lower engine harness too. I know these are different on the KA24DE, not 100% sure on the KA24E. (Much easier to change that lower harness with the engine out).

you may want to look into changing the pilot bearing/bushing as well i am fairly certain they are diferent. just go to a nissan dealer and ask to see apilot bearing from each auto and manual. If I remember corectly the auto bearing has a bigger hole for the imput shaft. I could be wrong though it has ben almost three years since i put a 89 auto ino a 90 standard

Auto doesn’t use a pilot bearing the hole is just that, a crankshaft without a pilot bearing in it. Having a pilot bearing in teh crankshaft will not be a problem for a auto.
