Quiet rock soundproof drywall?

I can hear the bass from my home theater standing in my front yard. That means it’s going through drywall, insulation, house wrap and BRICK. Good luck with your plan to stop bass with an extra coat of drywall.

You have an apartment. Put the stereo in night mode or disconnect the sub.

After reading this, I decided to just turn it down. The apartment probably will say “tough luck…” and I’m pretty much stuck just turning it down.

The guy said “we’re looking for a house.” Hopefully he moves out and the apartment next door is empty for a bit. Then I can enjoy turning it up as the neighbors above me say they are not bothered by it.

Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it.

i have a small surround sound system and my neighbors below us bitch all the time even though its just with watching a movie at normal listening volumes… i just unplug the sub if i am watching anything at night

I think that would make your apartment the ported subwoofer NOT his

Green glue and is specifically designed to work at low frequency. It can sometimes do better than floating via resilient channel -
20-25db reduction is much better than nothing.
