ok…

the 240 went 10.4 @ 132 1.51 60 time. #12 qualifier in a 16 car field

nelfy-- 11.7?? was his best, #4 qualifier

eric-- 11.74 i think-- #3 qualifier, but he left to go to church…

so sam, who was on the buble, becomes the #8 qualifier and makes the field of 8

other locals–

kurt brown is in same class as us-- he is a lil bit quicker-- i think 10.4/10.3 @ 14X…

vince in the all motor honda went 11.7. i think he may be #2 qualifier for his class.

thats it, off to eat.

first run(11.74@132mph) i broke my 98,000 mile driver side axle wheel hoping off the line.

then i snapped a napa axle off inside the tranny on the launch on my second run, i made it like 60’ down the track so i got pushed back to the pits and and called it a day since i had to be able to drive the car home.

looks like its time for some better axles.

i just wanna say thanks to sailor, jay, brian, travis, joe, vince and sam for helping me getting the car fixed and running between rounds and travis and joe for pushing it back to the pits from the starting line.

jay ran a 10.34@138mph

damn sorry to hear about that…

just got back, they should be getting home pretty soon too…

it was pretty badass, Jay ran the 10.34 during his bye round and then kinda broke. I am going to start uploading the pictures now. definitely a fun time

yeah we had like 6 people on Jays car between rounds today. dropped the whole oil pan, pickup and all and jay had to put a shim back in the valve train within an hour or so. unfortunatly jays oil presure gauge for some reason would go to 0psi when racing so he backed out in the 2nd round.

either way thanks to vince for saving me with an axle this morning and travis and brian for showing me how to change a honda axle in 10 minutes. also thanks to Brian Ballard, Jason Hunt and their whole crew for hooking us up with some gasket maker to get jays oil pan back on. And of course too all of the hybrid guys and gals there this weekend and all the help you all put forth.

Can’t wait till next year

wasn’t sure what to do on our 1st round of eliminations. the guy we were running broke, so we had a buy run.

i was all for ripping it to the 330 then getting out of it… or if it felt good stay in it and see how we go.

jay was skeptical, and was leaning more toward babying it… like a 20 second parade run…

well, i must have won. as he came out of the hole hard and never looked back.

slightly over reved the motor, and dropped a shim into the pan. we didnt know what the tap was, and feared the worse due to the oil pressure gauge died too at that time. so i got on the pan, and pulled it down and pulled the pump/pickup tube. laying in the pan was the shim. i completely overlooked it, thought it was a magnet in the pan to trap particless. jay seen it though, and new what happned. so he tore off the valve cover, and got to work as i slapped the pan/pick up back on. it was funny watching us work while other peopel are feeding you wrenches and sharing air tools. only have so much time to get ready between rounds.

we made it to staging just in time. we had changed the setup in between rounds too, figuring wtf, we came to win-- go for broke.

we holeshotted the awd car, but going into 2nd car broke tires loose and jay wisely got out of it. we got put on the trailer.

here is our best slip.

Crazy … sounds like you guys had a good time. PS get your front end

yeah we had a blast. nothing broke we couldn’t fix and we all ran decently well at the least. watching those PRO RWD guys run from behind the burnout box is insane. Next time someone says it is easy to drag race tell them to watch one of those cars

was this the rb car or pats car? 10.3xx

pats car

Congrats Jay/Pat. I see you got it running a lot better than it was at E-Town 2 weeks ago.

To those who were there, did any of you see the blue 350z outlaw car run (Carl Stevens)? Did it break or what happened?

-Joel

today I watched him run…it looked like his first clean pass of the weekend till he hit the timing boxes at the 1/8 and shut it down. still did a mid 9 I believe…it definatly has 7 second potential the way it sits if he could get it to go straight.

Cool, I wanted to go up there, but I had to work saturday. The car was not hooking up I am assuming

Carl is a good friend of mine, and his car WILL be a record setting outlaw car once he gets a clean pass. I know how much power its making on the VQ35 (he used to run an RB26 in the car www.xtremeracecars.com, he built my RB motor)

awesome but it is goin to take a lot to beat brent rau now. he dipped into 6’s 2 times yesterday and ran consistant high 190mph traps. I think the 350Z and rau are goin to be the two underdogs next year with effantis and humphries but I think they will both do just as well as the big sponsor guys

Nice, so thats the first 6 second pass in outlaw… damn, and on a 4cyl…

yeah yesterday he did:

7.0@197mph
6.97@197mph
6.98@198mph

he has a sticker on the back end that says 3 liter eater. that car is bad news

ohh yeah Krystos Effantis went 7.99 on BFG’s yesterday too.

6 records within 2 days

yea this weekend was a blast, no problems other than minor stuff that we were able to fix… pulling apart jays/pats car we were like a friggin nascar pit crew… at one point we had like 10 spectators watching run around like monkeys … axel changes in like 10 minutes… Eric no problem for the the help although for like 45 min after me and joe pushed that car i thought i was going to have a heart attack… we pitted like 1/2 mile away

either way thanks to vince for saving me with an axle this morning and travis and brian for showing me how to change a honda axle in 10 minutes. also thanks to Brian Ballard, Jason Hunt and their whole crew for hooking us up with some gasket maker to get jays oil pan back on. And of course too all of the hybrid guys and gals there this weekend and all the help you all put forth.

Its about time someone gives the girls a little credit!! Thanks Sammy
