autozone on main st near w. ferry is awful. i have never waited less than 5 minutes in line, it’s always like 5 people trying to figure out 1 person’s shit. i mean its cool that they have bilingual salespeople, so what the hell is the hold up?

Was just in the Elmwood store - I bought an alternator at the NFB location (the only place that had one in stock), and I asked specifically if I could return the core to the other store, and the guy said no problem. So I get to the Elmwood store, and the manager tells me he can’t take a core from another store. I ask him why not, and he said, “Why should I loose money off my sales from this?” Which is when I said, “Why should I care?” He even went so far as to compare what I was doing to buying a craftsman product at Kmart and returning it to Sears. WTF? Is this guy retarded? And he’s the manager.

I go to the Advanced in NT, never had a problem, if I ever need help, they come from behind the counter to show me and go over what I need. Never been to Pep Boys though…
It all depends on location.I have napa,carquest, close to me and autozone/advanced 5 minutes further.I usually go to autozone if i know my part is more then $20.
I hate napa.

I work at autozone on s.park, i despise marth (auto value) advanced is alright but twice the price, pep boys is a national tragedy. For best results use autozone in nt on goundry. lots of parts in stock. I found 2 ball joints for 01audi’s supra for like 27 a piece, granted expensive, but in stock. Agreed that ever other autozone sucks especiall broadway, bailey, main st., union, french. Autozone employs retards to cover the counter. I apologize in advance for all the retards you might encounter in your travels in autozone. If you need something let me know.
:banghead: Lame, I have done that before, returned an axle core from Henrietta to the Irondequoit store because I was in the area. Guy was confused for a minute because my info wasn’t in their computer yet, but once he got it, it was fine.
There’s one guy at the Henrietta Pep Boys who is ALWAYS helpful, everyone else is hit or miss. They have had computer problems every time I’ve been there in the last two months. Took a manager 12 tries to give me my $5 back on a battery core.

As far as local parts stores go, they’re pretty good. Although I try to avoid going to any parts store without knowing exactly what I want. I could never trust a clerk’s advice for anything more important than a wiper blade. Too many idiots that don’t know that they’re idiots.
My truck was shifting hard on cold mornings this winter. I had put in Redline MT90. Decided to swap it to something lighter. Went a couple of places looking for a GL4 70w80 synthetic gear oil. Stopped by Lakeland on NFB and mention to the guy what I’m doing. “Well there’s your problem right there. You can’t use a single weight oil. You know those things come from the factory with synthetic. You should never have to change it. You know there is such a thing as over maintenance.” :io:
