Rattling from driver side front WRX

I’ve noticed quite a rattle coming from the driver side front suspension when I hit shitty roads.
It sounds like the top hat bolts are loose, but that’s not the case.

I have H&R springs on the car, but they’ve been on for like 6 months and I am just hearing the noise now. Any thoughts on what it could be?

check that you didn’t bend a swaybar endlink - could be bent up and its making the swaybar contact something. happened on my sti… i imagine the wrx endlinks are equally as crappy

upper strut bearing
or possibly a loose not on the actual shaft of the strut…

subby sway links suck… that’d be my first bet.

I checked the front end links and they are straight.
There is no play in the shock or anything either…

Its an 08, why not take it to the dealer ship and make them figure it out.

because I know they will just say, oh you have different springs on here, we’re not looking at it, then i’ll waste my time

Hmm, good point IDk then it really sounds like a strut or sway bar problom

mmm, fuck, I noticed a bunch of oil on the shaft of the shock.

I don’t think that would make the noise, but that is a tell tale sign the seals are blown.

That’s true, we will. (I work there) I can tell you it’s likely the swaybar bushings, check those first. Or just replace them, they are very easy to replace. But if you bring it to us modded we’ll tell you to take a hike. Warranty time makes it not worth our time.

Some seepage is normal, dripping is not though.

Dude, your grandfather owns a dealership. Take it there.

Seriously?
I know on dirtbikes and snowmobiles that means the seals are blown…
which means rebuild…

I bet it is the control arm bushings. Check to see if the rubber has come out of the metal ring.
