RC Plane Crew - 5.5:1 A-10 - $12k

I’ve been contemplating getting rid of my RC drift car and picking up a plane. They look like a ton of fun. This post may be my motivation to do so.

anyone wanna buy and RC drifter? lol

umm NO, real drifting is gay, let alone a rc drift car :stuck_out_tongue:

but get a plane, they are so fun.

+1, but again I’ve been out of it for ~15 yrs.

i went out of it when i crashed my shit and it crumpled into 50438583832 pieces.

so much for auto stabilize on my pt60

lol

Some related reference links… of the rotary wing type: http://nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49731&highlight=rc+flight

i still wana try… im going to check out the hobby shop in west valley and i think if he has anything there just pick it up

Way cool

Side note - there was a big RC plane “airshow” at the Nike base out on Lakeshore Road in the southtowns over the weekend. I was going to slow down and watch for a few minutes but was pressed for time.

some more, cheaper, and RF (ready to fly) units…

the guy I sit next to at work is really into planes. he builds all his by hand, etc…

but he was talking about some airfield specifically for remote planes in Hamburgh I think he said

Meh, screw gas, and screw going big. Parkflyers are where it’s at now.

I was an AMA member flying at AMA registered sites when I was a kid but I don’t have time for that anymore. I had a 70+ MPH low-wing sport plane that if it ever went out of control and hit someone it will no doubt kill them so your options for safe flying spaces were limited. Now I fly in my front yard, or toss the plane in the trunk and fly at any park or open parking lot.

I’ve got an IFO MK3 and it’s a very agile and tough park flyer:

With a brushless setup it will hover at less than half throttle. Full throttle and it will take off straight up like you shot it out of a cannon. We had a big 75x100 future expansion space with standard office height ceilings at my old office and I’d fly it around in there for a 15 minute break just to unwind.

I’ve been looking at sub-micro planes that I could fly in my living room. That or a 3d profile electric, or maybe a flying wing to satisfy that need for speed (80+ with minimal mods). All of them are electric though.

lol … ill just stick to building and selling once done… but im going to look into it… see if i can get somthing like sub 200 with everything

2 channel heli FTL. All you have control of is up/down and spin. They balance them every so slightly front heavy so they slowly move forward when not spinning.

I’m getting out of the heli game anyway. I’ve got a collective pitch electric that I can fly circuits around the front yard with now but they’re super fragile. I like to go out and fly for fun really ripping around the trees and other obstacles in my yard so crashes are inevitable. With the heli even a slightly rough landing results in ordering repair parts.

Good site I order from a lot:

Dam. you guys are making me want to finish repairing my foam F-16. That thing was actually pretty fun.

Might as well call it greatplaneshobbies the way they pimp great planes products.

dude have u even looked at the site?

been around the longest, tons of they’re own planes, and others, lol and u do realize great planes is one of the biggest plane makers right?

Been flying across the street in a very large area. Ran about 4 packs and accidentdentally crossed the lipo wires!!! Big ballon but no fire. +1 on park flyers charge them throw em up take a brake. Redo … I wouldn’t fly a gas plane because of the neighbors, they are very loud. 3 planes on build right now 300 extra, SU27XXL and a UFO/front prop pizza box style. Smaked up a CAP 580 pretty good. Great site if you want to get into RC. You pay what you get for! Don’t cheap out on the radio. Running a Futaba 4EX, 4 micro HS-55’s, 40 amp speed control and a CSRC E5_L-8, Various Lipo’s.

Good site JayS.

God, I miss flying. I should bust out real flight on my laptop again

Yeah, I used to order from them all the time. In fact, they still send me their catalog. Their shipping is overpriced and they are extremely slow to carry anything new unless it’s from greatplanes. When park flyers took off you could get complete ready to fly setups from bphobbies with lipo packs for 100-150. All tower would carry were shitty GP kits with nicads for 200+.
