its very true and people have talked about avoinding it and yet they still go right back next week

Not going to lie, I have watched these races a few times (the PR’s).It is quite funny… BUT, if cops are going to start cracking down (which I bet they are… it’s only a matter of time) I am not going to be going back there. I bet they are already watching the area undercover. Think about all those random cars that drive by between races… you never know who’s driving them. It could be undercover officers for all you know. You can never be too certain nowadays. A bust is bound to happen, the only problem is nobody knows exactly when. If you want to stay out of trouble I suggest avoiding the spot completely. Let others take the blame. Watching PR’s race their 16 second civics against each other just isn’t worth the trouble in my opinion.

Or you guys could take your cars to the track and not worry about it.

Only place I have ever raced my car. I have gone to the ext to watch but I think even that will get some people into trouble real soon from the looks of it. It’s just getting to be too many people getting too rowdy and racing one too many times. They literally chill there and do back to back runs all night long (or at least until an Albany PD shows up… then they scatter like roaches).

i do find it funny though, that people were takin quotes from the fast and furious earlier in this thread yet look what they did in those movies to get the cops where the action was they arent as stupid as most people make them out to be, for all anyone knows they could be part of the races as well like was said in the prior post take it to the track if you dont want to race there you can spectate and have nothing to worry about

cops can be in a civilian issue car if its special purpose… Like cracking down on street racing…

and honestly, who cares if he is a police officer? This is a public forum. I personally know of 2-3 police officers that regularly browse the forum.

It all boils down to this… If you do something stupid and you get caught for it, why try to blame the cops or somebody else? ASSESS the risk before you do something. The reason the squad cars sit at the lot for ~30 minutes before they do anything is they are just observing. Which is what they are there to do, OBSERVE and enforce the law. They are simply looking to see who are the ones that are up to no good, and who are the ones who are harmless. I’ve parked my car in the lower lot AS the squad cars rolled through and told everyone to leave. I nodded at the officer and simply said “how you doing officer?” he nodded back and said “same ol same ol, be safe and have a good night” then I walked up to the McD lot.

Long story short, who gives a rats ass if the OP WAS a cop. consider it a friendly warning. and you cannot get punished for actions admitted through the media… or else every rapper would be in prison…

oh, and FYI, some of the patrol vehicles are sneaky. you simply will not be able to see the lightbars until they light up.

im glad to see someone else agrees, and i forget the year but in the near future all state police cruisers will be either going to an extremely low profile led light bar or fully marked car no light bar

even the crown vic’s are low key… regular plates, regular wheels, you CANNOT tell the difference from 20 ft.

not that i dont speed every now and then espcially on the bike, but they need to do something, there are so many assholes on the roads these days that must have gotten a license out of a cracker jack box becuase they sure as hell dont know how to drive

:+1

At times I would like to see more police patrol activity around that area. Might have caught the drunk driver who hit me on 155 and Central instead of having him flee/get into an accident/get out of the DWI

the way i look at it and i said it before, if your not doing anything wrong having the cops around shouldnt bother you, in the long run its gonna get rid of the shit that keeps screwing things up for everyone

pretty much yes.
