Rear seat delete ideas?

Ive been throwing around the idea of doin a rear seat delete for a while since my dog is the only one that rides in the back seat and the car will eventually become my track beater. I have been doing a little research around the forums to see what other people have done an so far this is the best representation of what I want to do:

I will be adding a cage next spring so I want to try and do as much research now as I can to figure out exactly what I want to do. What is the best way to make a template for the shape of the back seat so I can transfer it to a piece of wood and cut it out?

Pic of dog too:

subscribed, because i’m most likely going to be doing the same thing… but i’ll probably just have it open to the trunk so I can fit my gear bag in my trunk and snowboard ect…

still working on the aesthetic end of the back seat, but so far it will be based around this:

Who knew the rear-seat mounting holes fit perfect for the bottle bracket holes.

I take mine out all the time when I’m going to track days and put my race tires back there…

I can’t wait to put it back in when I get home because it acts as sound deadening and also doesn’t weight anything really.

what kind of car?

E36 coupe

heres a shot of a fox body mustang, its what i plan on doing if i ever get mine running.

BMW enthusiasts frown upon you changing the weight of their beloved Bavarian Motor Werked machine. You will upset the 50/50 weight distribution!

The back seat of the E36 coupes come out way easy and weigh like nothing anyways. I just had mine down to the metal. TBH, unless you really want carpeting, just taking it all down doesn’t look to bad, especially if its gonna be a track car.

^^^ I don’t think doggie would like laying on bare metal :frowning:
