Rear strut bar vs Rear seat [Structural rigidity]

Soft Serve Bro.

one that you bolt on to your bolt on cusco rollcage i believe.
anyway back to the op. yes keeping your back seat will not only add structural rigidity but also gives you a +17whp.
also throwing a jdm decal will add another +26whp… thats 43whp gain only with $5.00 cad. now thats really impressive for me dwag.

ok guys, jokes over. Can JDMR/torontocivicZ/8thgencivicZ stop sending your garbage over here

He got rid of the car…Thank God.

still here babycakes.

LOL

Why…Just…Why?

I still can’t get over, how you thought this was a legit question. More so because you own a 240 now.

lol alright I’ll explain myself, I got no excuse though.
Back when I had my Saab, I wanted to take the rear seats out (and other shit) to make the car lighter. Someone told me that the seats and spare tire were actually part of the car’s structural rigidity (to a small degree). I removed them anyway, along with a bit of other stuff lol. Next track day, I went out, and I was inconsistent as fuck. Either 'cus the car was slightly lighter or 'cus of the shit i removed. I dunno I’m just overly sensitive to small changes in a car lol.
BUTANYWAYZZ mx-5 got no rear seat so all mah troubles are gone

if you dont have a solid amount of trackdays or hard driving under your belt… its not necessarily that you’re sensitive to small changes. its more like your driving isnt consistent enough to form a valid assessment.

rod knock was an exhaust leak hahahaha

this might be the best post ever.

Nah fuhh dat. All you wanna do is model the rear seat frame and strut bar in NX or CATIA and whip up some finite element analysis.

Please somebody do it. I want to know if I should remove my front strut bar and install a foam seat to increase the rigidity of the front end.

LOOL man this thread is killing me

are you serious? -.- lol fml.

^^ If thats the case, man o man. You should trade your miata for a bus pass.

it had that distinctive knock though lol. Guess it was an ez fix. I like my mx-5 though so no worries :P. Just wish parts were as easy to find on that thing.

Glad the community could come together and solve this mystery

And we thought America had a bad education system …
