Recommend me a 46" LCD

any samsung 650 or up should do it

I see there is an LN46A650, 750, 850 and 950.

For a first time buyer… why would I want to spend $3000+ for the 950 when the 750 gets rave reviews?

Something special that I need to know about, which I may think “Shit, now that I have the TV I didn’t realize I’m missing #### which the 850 had!”

I am leaning towards the 750. I don’t get what LED backlight means on the 950 to make it so much more expensive… or if there is anything else I may be missing?

If you on a budget get a Vizio XVT 47… 120HZ and around $1200

I’m not really worried about a budget, but rather just trying to find the best TV vs. cost ratio

I’m really leaning towards the LN46A750 for about $2,000 shipped and 3-year warranty added on.

Thoughts compared to that Vizio?

You could find a 46" Samsung that is the generation before their 120hz ones came out for ~1300-1500 if I recall.

Personally, I got my 42" 120hz full 1080p Vizio one for $1000 and love it. Warranty is great and never had a problem. Would have picked up the next size up but wouldn’t have been able to fit it anywhere and have it look normal.

What is the model number of your vizio? 42" is fine as well.

Since I’m going from a $200 27" regular TV… I’m sure any set I buy will be “wow”

I don’t have HDTV service at all yet but plan on buying it with my DirecTV. Just a simple upgrade I think… (hopefully)

I found it on sale at Circuit City for $999 and I think you can get it from Target at that price too. Came with a 1 year warranty and can buy an extended one from Vizio.

Only issue I had was it has a Cinema Effect feature that gives it a 3d like motion appearance that I turned off. I haven’t tried it on a true HD source like BluRay to see how it looks but other than that, its great.

As for HDTV service, I am waiting till I move so just HDMI from my laptop to watch bluray movie rips and the antenna from radio shack for over the air HDTV

thanks, I’ll look into that as well. Hopefully I can find it at a store to take a look…

No problem. If you can’t find one locally to check out let me know. You can check out mine.

Personally, for the price and picture, I found it hard to beat. Put it side by side with my friends Samsung and looks great.

For $1000, its a great TV and probably will keep it for 3 years.

If you can’t find one and want to see it, you can come towards Canisius and check it out. I just don’t have a HD source and its in my bedroom so its not optimal for viewing.

Buy a Samsung and buy it anywhere but Wal-Mart/Sam’s.

I believe the LN466A650 and A630 are also 120hz and less expensive. Search dealcatcher… im pretty sure i saw the 46" A750 for about 1600 shipped. If you’re going to spend 2K you can probably get a 52’’
