I don’t really find this to be true at all in Raleigh.
Yeah I have to admit, most “southern” places I’ve been to have not been like that at all.
Southern lifestyle is definitely different from anything in NY, but I could definitely see myself moving down there at some point. In the end it’s all about what makes you happy.
West coast FTW. Low humidity & wide open space’s. Spectacular mountain views, bodes of sunshine. Would probably reside in Az, & visit Ca.
it took me a while. at first everyone I hung out with was within common interests (skateboarding, cycling, beer etc) all relatively “progressive.”
it wasn’t until I started meeting those friend’s friends, the “we went to high school together ten years ago so we’re still friends” type that aren’t necessarily in a common genre. That’s when it started to get weird. Glad you’re not experiencing that though
I’m a city person and have gone to NYC a lot and love it every time, never gets old, but not really car friendly and not for everyone, at least not for long periods. I like the northeast and would have stuck around. The only other thing I would have seriously considered was SoCal, it just seemed to have everything and I’ve never met a person that hated it.
Then again I spent the entire summer in Germany and live outside of London for the last 6 months and yea, it ain’t Buffalo that’s for sure. Surprisingly easy to adapt to everything and get use to day to day things. Not to mention I travel once a month all over for what I’d spend in gas driving around Buffalo. It’s just so much more eye opening and meeting people from all over is great, especially going to their homes. But I’m young and got a VISA by continuing school and getting EU citizenship soon. Relocating like this to work is a bitch and not realistic for most, but hands down best life decision and can’t imagine if I was still in the Buff or anywhere else right now. GL where you end up
lol the majority of Texas is like that get married at 18 bang out as many kids as possible
Wyoming has always been at the top of my list but this seals it…
Sounds lame to me :snky:
Raleigh was a bit too suburban for me. I’m currently interested in Charlotte, looking around at jobs and planning a trip down to check it out.
delray beach…
just got back from another long weekend in San Diego…its still at the top of my list.
I hang out there quite often. Great city. If you’re single, it’s a way better place to be.
I enjoyed living in Charlotte. If I had to do it again, I would find a house up in Huntersville or Davidson near Lake Norman.
Charlotte is a nice city, just not for me. Successful financially, but like many southern towns a lot has been redone in the past decade and looks very plain and bland.
checked out the NoDa district, it was more like generic mall area than a bar district.
Ended up at Uptown Cabaret. After I had to go back to my car twice to conform to the dress code I had a pretty good time…
Dre you’re so gangster.
I’m looking into moving out to Colorado sometime hopefully soon!
I’ve lived in Fort Lauderdale, chasing the dream of a vacation life and was highly disappointed, the people and culture (lack thereof) are terrible! Theres no city atmosphere, and was actually quite cloudy.
I moved to St. Louis recently, and LOVE it out here, the midwest is pretty underrated, the people are great, theres a million things 2 do here (2nd in free attractions only to DC, 2nd largest urban park in the country) oh and did I mention we’ve seen clouds once in the last 6 days ? There is a ton of money out here but people dont act like it. My room mate has been here for 6 years from SoCal and not moving back. The land scape is actually beautiful in MO, hills and creeks and caves and wineries and cliffs, gorgeous.
I’ve also spent a lot of time in Kansas City, also a very clean and professional city with a great downtown.
You want to check out something awesome, go check out the Lake of the Ozarks when they have the powerboat races there; OMFG. There’s some of the fastest boats in the world that race there. My Way IV broke a bunch of records there last year (That boat is based in Alex Bay NY/Kingston Ontario); per GPS 221, per radar 208 (but they only got him on radar like 4 out of the 8 runs he did).
Will do, theve got some pretty sweet camping and boating spots up in the ozarks, beautiful country
Lake of Ozarks has a TON of wakeboarding culture hanging around too.
