Remodeling my current home

I moved back out to Colden, and currently I’m renting my Grandparents home/cabin in hopes to some day buy it.(if my dad will ever sell me it)… This place is really cool, natural wood beams and a huge stone fire place, but it needs some updating through out. The two back bedrooms were added on years ago, but they used cheap wood paneling on the walls. That all needs to go asap. The front smallest bedroom which were staying in now while re-doing the back rooms, was the first update.

I also forget to take before pictures…

This room was blue walls with crappy blue carpeting… First thing we did was put a new window in, then re-painted, found some nice flooring on craigslist, and re trimmed everything

Finally started one of the back bedrooms… This room was wood paneled, and stick tiles on the ceiling. I demoed everything last week, and can confidentially say that I hate fake wood paneling.

Started with new windows, the one on the left is roughly twice the size as the old one. Completely brightened up the room as expected.
Last night we drywalled everything, small closet to the left not pictured as well.

Tonight will be mud and taping

Nice!

Looks like Brazilian Rosewood. Looks nice.

Mud and Taped the first layer tonight and moved the ceiling light up higher to fit a ceiling fan. Thank god my buddy Nick was here to help out and speed things up. Ive got some cool ideas down the road to keep the cabin feel but also updated, and I actually enjoyed the mud and taping part.

I have it written down somewhere but I think you’re pretty close. It was a sweet deal and looks and feels really nice. I think they paid over 3dollars a sqt and I paid .80 cents

Sanded the drywall last week/painted, and finished the flooring this weekend. Just need to trim and install some custom closet organization that I need to make. Then a large project of building closet doors, with some sort of a barn door feel.

Its nice seeing a project come together finally.

Is that color grey or green? I’m in the process of deciding on paint colors for my place… it’s a pain in the ass, lol.

Whoa, how did I miss this?

Looks really nice

its actually a steal blueish color… The picture makes it look kinda green. When I hang the new fan light, it should brighten the room up quite a bit. Plus the new bigger windows bring so much more light in.
