Not sure if it’s too soon or not to post, but I’m working on closing on a house. Been looking for a couple months now and after about 30 homes we snatched one up. It’s located in the Town of Tonawanda off Englewood.

  • New Glassblock Windows
  • New Furnace (3 Years Old)
  • New Driveway (6 Years Old)
  • New Sewer Lines (4 Years Ago)

Stuff I need To Do

  • Paint
  • Refinish the hardwoods
  • Replace All the Windows (Eventually)
  • Strip all Wallpaper
  • Electrical Updating
  • Get Appliances/Bed
  • Re-Drywall the Upstairs

The window visors (if they’re aluminum) are worth some coin at the recycling center. New furnace, AC, and roof, nice. Welcome to the club. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, those are coming down. There is also a huge and heavy metal prep table in the basement. probably weighs about 300lbs+ could be good for prepping deer, fish, etc.

that is one ugly house but it sounds like the bones are good. The good news is it looks like there are tons of easy projects to improve it. Can’t wait to see the improvement threads.

You did it right. Buy something ugly as fuck but with newer mechanicals/roof/driveway. These are the big ticket items you won’t have to deal with and you can customize the other things to suit your taste.

Some updating and you’ll have a real nice house, congrats. I agree with everyone else that you picked a good one, having those recent items taken care of. Don’t paint the walls semi-gloss.
