I am looking to be able to print remotely. I have a computer at our office that I would like to hit print there and have it print at my shop(off-site, not networked). Any suggestions? I use LOGMEIN but I don’t want to pay $30/month to upgrade to pro just to be able to print.
You’d have to log into the computer that the printer is connected to and print from it. Either that or make it networked, create a VPN, and do it that way…but that’s wayyyy too much work.
I print every day from it so if it takes some work thats fine.
some routers have the ability to plug a printer into it… then it would just be a matter of configuring the router and you wouldn’t even need the computer turned on.
Google Cloud Print

I think you set it up on the computer in your shop (which has the printer attached). Then you can upload your document to google docs and print from there.
True, but they’re on different networks. So the office computer can’t talk to the shop printer.
I haven’t tried it, but I would expect you can port forward and print to the IP of the other router.
^Interesting idea, I’m not to sure on that. Usually network printers don’t have an option to set ports (That I’ve seen).
you don’t need to set port on the printer, you need to configure the router so that when it gets a request from outside of your network it will route to the printer.
