The old lady and I are looking to rent a convertible, and take it from here to California. Then take a plane back to Buffalo.
The car rental websites are useless.
Does anybody know if I can get a car here, and drop it off in California?
Prices?

Yes you can. I picked one up in Canada and dropped it in the States before. It was like 2 hours away and a $300 dollar fee.
There will be an extra fee. Just call and ask.
so you paid an extra $300 to drop it off, or $300 including rental?
Extra. It came to like $450 for like an 8 hour rental. From Castlegar BC in the morning to Spokane Washington in the afternoon. I’m not sure if there’s like a distance limit or something though, so I guess I shouldn’t say that you can definitely drop a car on the other side of the continent.
i would assume it’s possible, there are cars with florida plates at some of the rental places around here
i used to work at enterprise, but not at the front desk… you usually get like 125 miles per day allowed and a small fee per mile over that depending on what type of car you get. the only convertibles there at the time were chrysler sebrings and i think they accidentally ordered a mustang convertible, you’d have to call to see what they have, hertz does one way rentals too as i’m sure most of the others would. but def. tell them where you’re planning on going with the car and find out what the overage in miles is going to cost you
Looks like avis has one way rentals and corvette and solstice convertibles
40% off your rental (if you can pull it off)
I did and got a half price rental Corolla for 4 weeks.
bump
Did you ever find anything out about this? I can’t find a place that rents convertibles locally…
^Really. I would check the places at the Airport. I know I have seen some convertibles from there. I had a customer fly in from Sterling Heights for a meeting in February and he got a Red/Tan Mustang Convertible :roflpicard:
