request for FAQ...5 bolt conversion

i’d like to see a thread on 5 bolt conversions.

what combination of parts are useable in the front and the rear:

FRONT:
?

REAR:
?

what changes in your suspension as in:

can u still use S13 suspension or do you now have ot use S14 suspension pieces. (coilovers?)

obviously there are the 5 bolt hubs that can be bought, but they are usually pretty expensive.

we have already had this thread in FAQ. Why don’t you edit the forum scripts so that nothing from FAQ forum gets removed.

i looked and couldnt find it…

why not sticky it in that section…

i dont think stuff expires in that section anyways.

Here’s what I did. I wouldn’t bother going with the 300zx uprights and all
that junk just for a little weight savings. Not wroth it, especially for the
rear considering you will most likely need to replace your calipers with
300zx as well as your e-brake assembly I believe.

Front:

  • S14 spindle
  • S14 ball joints (or S14 control arms)
  • Sleeves for bolts used by struts/coilovers (see below).

Rear:

  • 300zx N/A hub or S14 hub

Both:

  • 5 lug rotors and wheels

Labour:

  • You will need a shop to help you press out the hub for the rear as well
as the ball joint for the front.

If you are going to use sleeves, you will need a shop to make them for
you. The specs on the sleeves are below. Or you can drill your
strut/coilovers. The S14 spindle uses thicker 14mm bolts I believe so
thats’s why you need the sleeves.

The sleeves are: 0.545" O.D., 0.469" I.D. and 30mm long.
