After offering GT5 users the chance to drive a camouflaged prototype of the new Corvette C7, a challenge that more than 500,000 people accepted since last November, Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital Inc., the developers of the racing game franchise, are now making the production model available for download.
The new Corvette Stingray will be available as a free download through the PlayStation Store on PS3 on Tuesday, January 15.
“Getting behind the wheel of the all-new Corvette Stingray – the most powerful and sophisticated standard Corvette ever – is sure to be a thrilling experience,” said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “Through this unique collaboration with Gran Turismo, Chevrolet is able, for the first time, to give performance car enthusiasts access to such an exclusive driving experience the day after the Corvette Stingray’s world debut.”
GM adds that during the creation of the virtual Corvette Stingray, “careful attention was paid to the tiniest details of the new design inside and out, as well as to the enhanced performance driving characteristics – down to the shift schedule for the seven-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Matching.”
I think it looks awesome. Hope its super light. It wont be keeping up with next years SRT 8’s, GT500’s or older Z06’s if its a bit heavy.

Damn. Thats pretty light. 450/450 at 3000lbs so probably 390/390 wheel before any mods still at 3000lbs area should net some 12.3-12.6 at 112-114 area stock id say with a good launch.
I’m sure the Z06 an ZR1 versions will be even more aggressive looking. I think its great looking, a good move going off on a new angle with vents and body lines. GMs interiors are drastically improved from what they were 10 years ago. The Corvette is still an obtainable, reliable sports car to the general population. It looks awesome, performs great, and is affordable to most.
I’m sure there will be 6-million special editions like the C6 had too. I’d definitely buy one.

Even if it had 300hp did the 1/4 mile in 16-seconds I’d still want one.
I’d still want the C6 Z06 more - why? Because dat 427
