RIAA at it again... $72 Trillion lawsuit

Nothing like suing for more than the entire planet’s GDP :picard:

When is this shit going to stop.

Nothing better than them continuing this IMHO. The ridiculousness of these lawsuits and the sums of money they are trying to get just hurts them in the long run. If they sued for reasonable amounts of money, they would probably have won this battle already.

In his defense, it was there, I read it, now it’s gone.

Wow, it was there when I posted it.

Trackback articles show that the RIAA was suing Limewire itself for $72 trillion dollars. Lol.

Its not so much the $72T thats the eye popping number. Its the fact that they think they should be able to recoup $150,000 for each download of only some 11,000 songs… $150k is a pretty heavy statutory damage for something youd pay $1 for on ITunes :fail:

72…trillion…dollars. Can’t they just die already?

LULz @ $72 TRILLION. So they want all of the upcoming QE3? Sue the Bernank not Limewire, he controls the money.

Biggest debate too is they assume that because someone pirated a song, they in turn would have paid for it if they could. There is a lot of people who wouldn’t have paid anything for the song if they couldn’t download it which leads to the over inflated lost revenue ad damages numbers.

YouTube was actually the most pirating deterrent so far. Studios and labels are making millions on free music they have on there which shows that some companies have it figured it.

If I ever got sued by some shit like this I’d just assault one of the lawyers and go to jail so that my tax payers dollars go to better use than a retarded trial.
