Rice Alternator?

Ok, i have to say this is the MOST bizarre find yet. What willed someone to create this kind of kit?

It has a function can it be riced?

It’s just like any other underhood dress up item. I don’t see the big deal.

Rice? EVERY alternator has a fan in it. Those are just aluminum with a “fancy” shape. It draws air in to cool down your regulator and diodes.

I know, but changing the fan… sorry thought it was worth a laugh…

most of the time the chrome ones are cheaper than the OEM style fans.

Same goes with alternators (well chevy at least)

it also helps for people with stereos in their cars. it helps prolong their alternators life.

I don’t know if I agree with that… :chin:

Please explain how this fan “prolongs their alternators life.”

Whats one by-product of the production of electricity? heat, which can wear out the bearing in your alternater. These fans probably won’t pull enough air through to cause any kind of cooling effect, but it is a start. I had one on my 85 chev, along with other underhood dress ups it really added to the effect.

So really if they “won’t pull enough air through to cause any kind of cooling effect,” would it be safe to say they don’t prolong the alternators life and are more of a underhood dress up?

They look like little shuriken, which reminds me I should go play Ninja Gaiden.

lol yeah I guess so more or less, I would imagine the different fan designs would have a better effect over others. I’ve never seen a write-up done on any of these so I don’t know of any solid evidence. So as of right now, I would be pressed to say no, no prolonged life.
