Anyone want to buy a stag 6h upper?
Less than 300 rounds through it. It’s a free-float upper, 24" Stainless Steel 1/8 Twist bull barrel.
$500.

For those who need .223
Wait m&p ar15s are not a good price at 2 grand?
I just sold a stripped lower for $400.
Not sure why people are paying that much if you sit on a few forums and other places everyday this week a place has had at normal prices.
I got an offer for my kel-tec sub2k 9mm glock $750, I paid $270. Very tempted to sell.
Sold it for a lot more, holy shit.
Also, Galleria Dicks has hornady .223 for .50/round, about 1200 at 10am.
man not to long ago i was paying .50 a round for .308 and maybe .27-.31 for brass 5.56 even 9mm is costing .20 a round these days
I’m selling my lower and lpk. I can’t spend a grand on an upper for a home defense gun.
AR for home defense or home invasion? Lol
12ga with a mix of ammo best suited for your home is the best.
Buck shot FTW.
Much easier for a female to operate a .223 AR versus a 12-ga shotgun.
Edit: Also many test show that polymer tipped .223 rounds such as the vmax penetrate walls much less than other rounds, including all shotgun rounds except bird shot.
So get a 20 gauge?
Im going to end up with a shotgun due to prices. At the end of the day, id rather have an AR though if cost werent a concern.
5.56 inside a home is going to be loud as hell. If you were able to aim and hit a person in close quarters it most likely isn’t going to kill him, if you miss that bullet is going to go through a few walls. Try moving around your house with a AR.
I’d suggest a low recoil 00 shell in a mossberg 500 with just a pistol grip
Are you serious or what.
He is pretty much right.
I find it hard to believe that anyone can more accurately shoot a pistol grip shotgun than an ar. Law enforcement has the same risk as home defense-- being responsible for every bullet that comes out of the barrel. They choose rifles.
Personally, I don’t care about “clearing my house”. If I believe there is an intruder, I am barricading myself in a room and calling the police. Not worth risking my life for a television and a computer. If it came to it, overall length between a pistol grip shotgun and a 16" barrel AR is within a couple inches. Maneuverability isn’t going to be much different.
Tests show a poly tip .223 has much less wall penetration than 00 buck. 00 buck goes through 4 walls, where poly tip .223 doesnt make it intact through 2 walls. With a child and other people in the house, wall penetration is a HUGE concern for me. With 00 buck, some pellets ARE going to miss and go flying through the house. This is not optimal for me.
Whatever floats your boat. In will vary home to home, user to user. You sound like you already did your research.
Personally my home is best suited for a shotgun with variety of rounds in the chamber.
Without doing major research, some ARs approach 40", while a pistol grip shotgun can be right at 26", that is a hell of a difference in a 3-4ft hallway.
Sorry Stuie but I think you’re way off base. ARs are not going to be optimal for either your wife to operate or for home defense. You have to hit your target and it’s infinitely easier for your wife to aim in the general direction of trouble and pull the trigger.
Think about being woken up, groggy and trying to operate an AR with minimal training. Willing to put your life and your family’s on the line? Shotgun with buck shot, hands down.
