I think a lot of places look at your ID when you buy ammo, but I don’t know of anywhere that says you need a pistol permit to buy .22lr. You don’t have to have a pistol to shoot .22lr.
What about all the pistol caliber carbines… Do I need a permit to feed m cx4 storm in 45?
I have purchased 22lr at Dicks no issues HOWEVER any pistol calibers you need show a pistol permit.

Technically… This is a rifle… Came in the mail today… Kinda silly, but the gun is registered with the atf as a short barrel rifle, so why not. Can’t wait to see how far I can shoot a 4 inch barrel glock.

Walmart in NY won’t sell 9mm without a pistol permit, I always wondered what if you have a hi-point that shoots 9mm or something other than a pistol.
I don’t worry about any of that BS anymore, I enjoy my second amendment rights away from NY
