Don’t have a facebook account. I see you put “Open to…anyone who wants to compete” but why also put “Open to all RIT students?” Wouldn’t RIT students be classified as “anyone?” The reason I ask is because a friend of mine is a lifter and no point in me telling him about this if he really can’t go since he isn’t and wasn’t an RIT student.

Nope its open to everyone, I didn’t write the info otherwise I would have worded it a little better.

We have about 25 people so far but always looking for more.

That clean and press has got to be upped another 50 lbs.

I would love to do this if I wasn’t a crippled bitch. Hopefully two of my buddies will participate in this

We settled on a easier clean and press because we’re expecting the majority of people to be not very good at it(read RIT students…). Rather than have people get frustrated and be unhappy we lowered the weight and are looking for reps. This is our first time too, so we’re hoping to learn what can be better next time.

My money is in Juanita Ramos. She looks jacked soooooonnnnnnn.

Dam I wish I was still in Buffalo

Edit: I’m guessing it is not going to be a tested event?

agreed, but you gotta think that not too many people are going to be used to using the “thick bar”. that makes a difference.

This isn’t an official event sponsored by any of the national organization, its just a for fun event that we decide to throw together to get our name out there and spark some interest in the club. No testing, hell we won’t even weigh in people, it all about having fun and lifting some weight.

The clean and press is light, but it was a lot more fun in practice when guys were getting 15+ reps rather then when we struggling with 4-5. These weight were chosen with the average RIT gym goer in mind, and honestly, seeing a clean in our gym is a rare sight.
