First off, My camera is the SUCK and it was getting dark so the pictures are not great.

Was down in Daytona working the Nascar race and had a chance to check out the Grand Am cars. It was nice to see some real road racing and not all left hand turns for a change.

Those GT Rx-8s are amazing sounding. Tripple Rotor FTW. Tube chassis carbon fiber wide body > .

I prefer the paint scheme on the black and orange CTv one.

As did I, but only the white one broke amd I could get pics. The Black one was sweet. They also had a hot ass milf crew member. Chicks in pit crew suits rule…

Damn! I gotta catch one of those races sometimes. My favorite street cars (-GTO) :slight_smile: pushed to the race envelope.

It’s pretty easy/cheap to make it to most of these races and get pit passes.

Nub question: How are the wheels secured to the cars? I assume lugnuts are too slow.

Actually. it depends on the car. Obviously, the teams want to have as quick of a pit stops as possible, but most of the time the driver change is the slowest part. The Daytona Prototype Grand Am cars use a single large nut, while the porsche Cup classes use traditional style 5 lug setup. They do pre apply lug nuts to the wheels with adhesive, just like in NASCAR.

Nice pics, looks like a good time. I sadly havent made it to Grand AM or ALMS this year and odds are looking slim that I will.
