That won’t happen Olean owns the airport they’re requiring they source proper insurance.
I doubt they will get it the people trying to get insurance didn’t even consider forming a LLC or some sort of legal entity till I mentioned it the other day.

Awesome.
Bump, saw 716racing post the official flyer yesterday on Instagram. Gates open at 10am for racers and 11 for general public.
Still only 1/8th mile dig races?
Yep
:fail:
Do they have timing equipment?
They didn’t think about insurance you think they have timing equipment
Think original fast and the furious but 1/8th mile and slower cars
So it’s like 30min farther than Empire, twice as much as Empire and half the racing distance of Empire… and no timing equipment.
I guess if you have a car that will barely hit 55 in the 1/8th, you dont need much more than they have.
The car list is
TRD just hit like 217 in their viper in the 1/2 mile on its low setting. It’ll be interesting to see what this car and the new D3 viper will be giving the lambos a run for their money.
Anyone to go this thing?
this sums it up. oh well, it was a good dream for a moment.
I guess this event was postponed and is now tomorrow for anyone who was wondering. Gates open at 11 for spectators $10 and gates open at 10am for racers $30
I went to check this out today. Only stayed for a couple hours. But it wasn’t bad for a first time event. They did a good job coordinating it so safety was number one priority. For everyone who thought it was gonna be a bunch of shit boxes running ( there were a few) there were also Zo6, gtr, sti, gasser, diesel trucks, mustangs, cameros, hell even a few airplanes landed. Lady I spoke to said if this event goes well they plan on extending the runway longer next time. First responders on site. Fire truck spraying water for burnout box. Food and drinks also on site. I give a thumbs up for that car club to be able to put together a decent event.
Thanks for the review. The news says there were 400 cars there?
The club brought drag racing and everything that comes with it to Olean Saturday at the Cattaraugus County-Olean Municipal Airport. About 400 cars got a chance to race on an airstrip — a dream of many drag racers, members said.
I’ll concur. I’ve also heard nothing but good things about this deal from a bunch of different folks.
Still, I don’t think there were 400 cars there, from the pics I’ve seen, but no matter really.
Anyone have pics they can post up?
It’s almost like people don’t know you can 1/8th mile race at Lancaster 3 times a week.
Glad to hear it didn’t suck as much as we thought it would.
