Should we start a pole or betting pool on the total number of crashes?
A pole would certainly raise the chances, depending on where you placed it.
Pole, Pool, Poll, Poo…oh my
Pohl
I’ll probably rent a car to go. I don’t want a Mustang crashing into my actual car.
I also bet someone eats shit on a bike, with little to no gear.
I think you guys are getting carried away. It’s a 1/2 mile run. Most of the shitty cars showing up won’t have power to break traction after 10mph and they’re going to be hitting 120mph MAYBE. It’s twice as long as a regular 1/4 mile but even at a steady 100mph that extra 1/4 mile only allows you an extra 9 seconds of acceleration. Figuring the car is speeding up that entire time figure maybe 7 seconds.
Look at some of the slower cars in the results from this 1/2 mile event. First two speeds are 1/2 mile and 1/4 mile.

I doubt it’s going to be the crasharama you’re predicting. My biggest concern would be the idiot who ignores the shutdown zone because we want to see his POS hit 130 and runs out of runway and or brakes.
Seems no more dangerous than when Shredd and Reagan would have racing and burnout night at lancaster speedway?
That surface was pretty terrible.
I’ll pay the $30 to see what its like. If its fairly well organized I’d make a couple runs.
The surface is terrible because its not prepped and people drag water/dirt on it…They stopped prepping Wednesdays because people were breaking parts on shitty cars.
A shity car will hit what 60-80 in a 1/8th of a mile? Half mile almost any car will do 100+

Those numbers suck…
A stock ZR1 will do 150-160 in a 1/2 mile
A show room stock 2011+ mustang will do low 130s

I will be bringing my b5S4. I was not going to go because I thought I only had snow tires and they are obviously not speed rated then I remembered I have a set of slicks from the road course off of my A8 track car. I have no idea what the S4 will run but i’m not expecting anything impressive. It launches nice but after that it is a bit of a turd.
My van would be fun to run but it will run out of gear before the 1/2 mile. stupid diesel
2 weeks way, what’s the story?
So they were waiting on FAA approval which I think they got…
They’re only allowed to use the taxi runway? so 1/8th mile no prep only and they still haven’t found insurance
If it happens seems like a giant waste of time and you would be better off running at Lancaster.
1/8 mile is not entertaining to me. 1/2 mile has my attention though. Hopefully they pull a rabbit out of their ass
“…and still haven’t found insurance”.
There’s a better chance of Trump convincing Putin to be his VP than this event happening if they haven’t even found an insurance carrier before they started telling people entry fees.
1/8th mile roll race?
No 1/8th mile racing from a stop on a shitty surface they can’t prep
Pffft, people in their archaic 2WD cars. Why don’t you run wood spoke wheels while you are at it? Keep time scores with a Commodore 64 computer too.
I want to run the half mile to see if I can hit 170mph.
Good luck with that
Damn.
Will the authorities let them do even this without insurance?
Which authorities?
