hmmmmmmm
you might not want to hear this but if your body looks like this your frame / underbody is likely in a lot of trouble as well.
Check the pedal area under the drivers’ feet and the area behind the passenger seat.
Check the frame rails as well.

im not too worried about the rockers and rear quarters as much as the insides of the doors. how can i fix the insides of the doors?
also, if i wanted a new frame/chasis where could i get one? would anybody have one too sell?

I’d advise against buying a new frame/chassis… Buying a new car is a LOT wiser. That’s the reason I’m buying a 240 now, as opposed to in a year or so when I can really afford it  I have an 87 Celica, and there’s quite the rust on the body and frame. I think there’s nothing that can be done about it, since the rust I saw is as bad, if not worse than the one on my celly. The underbody looks exactly the same, but atleast my doors are okay
Hmmm… on a side note, anyone wanna buy a celica? The engine, tranny, brakes, electronics, interior… actually everything but the body is in amazing shape. It’s the ultimate parts bin since apart from the rust, this car is in better shape than my parent’s 02 hyundai sonata

very tough spot to repair.

very

If you can cut the rust out with a cut off wheel, you might be ok.

The problem isn’t so much the holes you can see, it’s the rest of it that worries me. That spot in particular is only really accessible from the outside, without stripping the car pretty much to the ground.

Do you have pictures of how the car sits?

The problem is that piece where the door connects is structural. If the rest of the chassis is soft, cutting away at it could be disastrous.

When working on a car this far gone, you have to do very small repairs one at a time to build up strength. If you just start cutting away, the car might very well just fold in half under its own weight.

Be prepared for a lot of very difficult and very time consuming work.

the car just sits on its wheels. i was thinking about just to patch it up with fiberglass but the door gets in the way. how does the door come off?

Just undo the heavy brackets there are 2 of them i think and the door should come off. but with that rust, unless its loose i wont be surprised if you pull more than just a door off.

I just cut out my rocker panel and fabricated a new one out of sheet metal its gonna get welded in this weekend and ill make a post about it.

But youre got tons of rust in bad spots. it all can be done just depends how good you want it.

I’d hope it is sitting on its wheels …

I asked how it sits, because looking at the pictures, to me it looks like your frame is already bent/broken.

I don’t know if you care or not, but that panel is structural, as in it is part of the structure, as in it has to be strong, or the car will never ever be safe to drive.

It is also very close to the firewall, front rails, floor pan …

This car was done once already and badly … that’s why it’s coming through like it is. Actually, looking closer at the pics, I think that it’s been done at least twice already.

Someone already did what you’re suggesting. They patched what they could and hid the rest.
