--- rwhp?

i plan to get my hands on a '91 240sx, and i was wondering what rwhp i would be able to get out of the KA24DE?

depends on what you plan to do to it.

in stock form with BPU mods you’ll be lucky to make about 140rwhp probably.

if you’re willing to spend a few grand you can go the sketchy kat route and make maybe around 300 withouth sacrificing all reliability

spend a few more grand and that # can go up quite a bit.

this question is too vague to answer with any kind of certainty.

I’ll go with 90-110whp considering factory spec is what, 140hp

drive train lose is like what 20-30%? which would be approx 28-42hp from 140hp puts you into the 90-110whp area “give or take”

Stock KA24DE won’t give you to much but like mentioned earlier a KA-T is possible.

It all depends on how much you put into it. Darkforce has a simple KA-T, heres the link to check it out

You can also go nuts and make huge amounts of horsepower but I know for a fact you wont be doing that. If going KA24DE-T make sure to check out www.ka-t.org

Shouldn’t a KA24DE put down more like 100-125rwhp and 115-130rwtq on a bone-stock motor? I could def. be wrong but that’s what i’ve always recalled.

Anyhoo, thanks for the honourable mention PureEuroM3 lol… :stuck_out_tongue:

stock S14KA put down 110rwhp on u2nsdyno

111 with a cold air intake  lol j/k

Looks like I was on the money…

Also the condition of the engine would play a big part. I’d assume a healthy motor makes around the 110whp mark where as one lower on compression would not be as high etc…

k lets say i had a stock KA24DE… bone stock, and i got 5 grand to drop into it…

Yeah, I made 113 rwhp with my Kouki only mods were a mani back exhaust and advanced timing. tq was around the 130 mark.

That was the baseline run before the GT2871R went on. She did a 16 flat in the 1/4 with blown shocks giving me no traction. 15.8 is posible as I pulled that with my old Zenki in stock form with 50’000km.

Edit: 5G’s will get you a budgit turbo kit or a stock-ish sr if your confident in your own work. Paying will add a grand atleast. If your not a wrencher, go sr.

well if i do a swap it’ll be my first one… but i have a couple friends who have experience with this… im juss tryin to find out wat would be best…

well what are your power goals? do you plan on a full rebuild. 5 grand is a decent amount
of money. if i had 5 g’s to invest in a motor i would probably go kat. full rebuild with forged
internals, and a turbo to give me 10-12 psi all day long. it can be done for maybe 5 grand
but you will definatly have to get dirty.

peace

thanks for the suggestions
