I am trying to convert some of my VHS tapes that contain vacations and family stuff to digital format so I can burn a DVD. My video card has an S-Video connector. Should I use an adapter for consider other methods? Ideas?

Do you have a video capture card on the computer?

no I do not. I also see aloy of USB to video cables online…as there worth it?

Ive actually never used a video to usb cable converter so I’m not 100% sure what type of software/capturing it does.

S-Video connector on your video card is an output, so that won’t help you much. You need some type of capture card, USB or PCI.

get a dazzle. they come with some DECENT software too
