I love how everyone on SON is a bunch of off topic terrorists.
Actually, if you order a headlight for an s13 in North America, they will sell you a 180sx popup headlight.
Call 401 and Dixie Nissan to check if you want.[/quote]
this is true.
even in FAST it says “chassis code S13” not 240sx
Whether you use the Japanese, Euro or North American Software they ALL say S13 chassis code then either Silvia, 180sx or 240sx.
So calling a 240sx an S13 is correct… people can argue all day long that S13 is slang for a 240sx but they’ll be wrong all day.
John, Max - You suck.
I’ll say it for a third time. The reason the dealer will give you a popup headlight if you say “s13” is beacuse it’s COMMON SLANG. It’s technically wrong, but thats just what everyone call them.
Well technically a 89 - 93 240sx is an S13 so if you call the dealer and ask for a headlight and you say “S13” you should get a pop up headlight considering the S13/240sx has pop up headlights
Who would call Nissan and say I need a light for an S13 but not mention its not a 240sx but a Silvia in which case they would have to order a Silvia Light from Japan…
Again… I dont care if its a 89-93 240sx, a 89-93 Silvia or a 89-93 180sx their ALL S13s with different “model names” S13 is not a slang word (which makes no friggin sense) considering they are ALL built on an S13 Chassis, so why people would say its wrong or “slang” to call it an S13 is way beyond me…
People just prefer to go by the “chassis code” instead of the model… I could say I have a 240sx sure (what year or model) but if I say I have an S13 Zenki or Kouki, the year and model has been narrowed down quite a bit vs just saying (I have a 240sx)
It’s not slang… even FAST only classifies them as S13 and RS13. Either way they are all varaitions of the S13 chassis. The 88-90 Silvia has no additional variation on the code because it was the first one in 88 when there were no variations! And it’s not the only one with that front end.
Therefore I win.
RPS13 or a PS13 or a RS13
anyone notice a trend?
thats right boys and girls there all S13s
The dealer uses slang?
It doesn’t really matter to me what you call it since anyone involved with these cars will understand whichever way you, me or anyone else labels them. However they are all variations of s13’s and are the exact same cars. S13 is the chassis code. If you strip off the hood, fenders, headlights, etc off all these hs13, rs13, ps13 or whatever the hell they are called you will have the exact same chassis. They are all s13 chassis’ with different motors and styling hence the reason a CA/SR will swap directly in
and silvia headlights/fenders bolt right in with no modification.
And the dealerships FAST is limited to Canadian models, so when you tell him/her you need a s13 headlight you are going to get a popup headlight since that is all they have to offer.
This is only true if you generalize. From my human resources ‘Different Faces from Different places’ training I know that generalizing things is bad.
If it’s true for the human race it’s true for cars.
If you look at your little placard in your engine bay it will specifically SHOW the M or H, that makes it it’s CHASIS.
People seem to think chasis only means the body…
All of the other cars AND codes are DERIVATIONS of the original perfect S13 chasis.
Vee cannot allow zez unpure S13s to be mistaken, ya!
dude you’re a GIANT tool.
slang or NOT, s13 is 240sx, 200sx, 180sx and silvia.
s14 is 240sx, 200sx and silvia. You know it, we all know it.
Stop trying to be a douche bag.
You made that thread about treating noobs nice…i was quite nice and you blaintantly antagonize me?
go find a hole to crawl into.
LIES!!
Dont’t hate just because you have a 1 8.
No!
I refuse to associate with the unpure [P/H/M]S13s!
how does what I said have anything to do with me starting a thread about being nice to noobs?
And you were blatently correcting his correct statement incorrectly. Follow me? It had nothing to do with how “nice” you were.
