S13 - Mushy brake problem!

Are the brakes supposd to be a bit mushy when you slam on them or should they bite and make the tires chrip?

My rotors and pads in the front are pretty worn and the rear rotors have recently been replaced. I have ss brake lines and just recently flushed the sytem. When I pump the brake pedal, pressure does build up to the point where you cannot pump any longer with only a little bit of play.

Anyone know if its just an inadequate stock braking system?Worn out pads/rotors? Possible leak?

Basicly this is normal. But make usre your pads are not glazed, same with your rotors.

Its normal. If you want you could get a brake booster off a Auto 240sx, it will help increase the pedal feel.

Are you sure you bled the brakes properly?

yea a fluid change does help but they are still pretty shitty brakes.

The Maxima/ altima combo are great.
Matter of fact there is a set for sale in the for sale sections

any bolt on caliper upgrades available that fit over stock rotors?

Make sure you got every last air bubble out of the brake system…

I couldn’t hurt to check out your master cylinder. The brakes on my 200sx were a bit mushy and needed a pump to firm up even after replacing pads and rotors. After bleeding the lines a few times I found out it was the master cylinder. Replaced that and now they are rock solid.

my rear brakes don’t grab when i pull the ebrake either and my ebrake cable is tight

again,is this normal?

your ebrake cable it probably seized and needs to be replaced.
