S13 vent gauge install

I have had it done for a while but nobody had a good way to hold them in properly do i fugured it out and have some pictures.

I used a piece of alum for the edge of a stair case for a home. Just somthing lying around will be fine. You have to drill holes for the bolts that come out the back of the gauge.

I had to cut notches so there was still room to disassemble the fittings on the back of the gauges.

Here is where that piece will fit agenst right where I am pointing my magnet pen.

Here is that piece attached to the gauges. You see rubber pieces that I cut out. If you do this mod you will see why you have to do this to make the gauges fit snug.

All done.

wow, looks great. I was thinking about doing the vent mounting but I think I am just going to stick with a single boost gauge.

Wikkid!

I’ve been thinking of a way to mount mine forever lol. I’ll give the magnet idea a shot.

Thanks a lot

nice. i was thinkin of putting guages there but i would rather them below my cd deck. Autometer??? since i have not boost i was gonna do oil temp

I want oil temp too. Very important. Im seting up a small oilcooler to help that out so I might do a thread on that too. Very cheap.

Im guessing this mod will take about an hour to do. You need a drill, drill bits, die grinding bit so you can fine finish the holes in that piece for the lights to go, exacto knife for rubber or whatever you use and I used a bench grinder to grind those divits in that piece for more space for the fittings on the back.

Cheers

yeah allen that was the exact way i was going to do it!

but yeah god stuff

Very sneaky way of doing it  Let’s see the finished product!
