To clarify,
This is not the entire pumpkin rather just the VLSD itself.
It looks something like this:
From what Ive read, this will fit into both S14 open diffs and S13 open diffs. If anyone has more information on this please add your 2 cents.
^^
Will fit any R200 pumpkin (short nosed or long nosed)
The only thing it won’t drop straight into are '86 and older R200 diffs. They use 10mm ring gear bolts. The new style (87+) are 12.
y’know, in case you’ve got an old S12 or Z31
you’d need the shiro half-shafts to use it…
that’s why they always say if you order an r200 lsd from anyone, pick 240sx “open”
so… this won’t just “drop” in to any any s13 open diff?
Can someone confirm this 100%?
yes, can someone confirm this so i can buy it, lol…
you need the matching axle stub thingies
//\ ?
you need VLSD output shafts. (gawd damnit READ PEOPLE!) Otherwise there are no problems at all whatso ever.
open dife ouput shafts look like this

VLSD looks like this
]-- (DIF) ----[
ones side on the vlsd is longer than the other. because it goes through the actual diff unlike open where they sit on either side of the planetary gear setup.
//\ thank you for clarifying this… sorry “matching axle stub things” didn’t exactly makes things clear for me, lol
Man, I think I made this more confusing by trying to help.
The early R200s (which no 240sx has, no 240SX not S13 or S14!) use a different size ring gear bolt.
This is the only situation in which this diff won’t fit without some work. none of you have this diff, so don’t worry about it.
You need VLSD stub axles (they’re everywhere) and you need to make sure they match up to your existing shafts.
Some are 5 bolts in a star pattern, and some are a 3-pointed star with 2 bolts at each point. Just use whichever matches your setup.
