are the 5 speed trannies same on both s14 and s13? i heard the bell housings are different.

gearing should be the exact same…
i wasnt aware the block was changed from s13 - s14 “ka anyway” so it should be the same bell housing
sure your not talking about ka tranny on an sr… cause their the same as well “minus bell housing”
only tranny which should be geared differently is a CA18 for sure… and possible the SOHC ka ? ? ? can anyone confirm any of this ? ? ?
for KA-D (S13 and S14) the transmissions and the bellhousings are the same.
The S14 one has 3 position switches (neutral, reverse and 5th gear).
The S13 tranny has all those plus an extra one (4th gear one maybe?) and
the S13 tranny doesn’t have a crank angle sensor.
Other than that, it’s all the same…
why would a tranny have a CAS anyway?
the ca18det has the same tranny as the ca18et

without the crank angle sensor it will throw a CEL.
the trannys both bolt up and work perfictly fine however

oops… didn’t mean that 
it’s a sensor on top of the bellhousing… and it’s for something…my s14 tranny had it, but I remeber Chris (canadiandrifter240sx) saying the S13 tranny’s don’t have it…
Only other difference is the dust cover on the output side that mates with the propeller shaft.

edit: Avery, I might still need that speed sensor from you… I’m gonna install the pinion on my auto sensor today and see if it works… if it doesn’t I’m gonna buy your speed sensor then…
