s13 tranny in obd1 s14

Okay, I’ve read a tonne of stuff on swaps but still have a few quesitons.

I’ll be putting my s13 5spd into my s14.

My only unanswered question is will the tranny function properly??
IE will I have a speedo signal? can it be transfered from the s14 auto tranny?

Also, can I swap the entire s13 subframe into the s14 or do I have to swap pumpkins on the diff and axles and such.

As long as everything works, I could care less about a CEL.

If anyone has pertinent info please feel free to post it up as I have been unable to find it.

i have done the swap. S13 tranny works fine. Just put the s14 speed sensor in the transmission. subframe i dont know about

S13 tranny works in an S14. It bolts right up. Just use the S14 5speed speed sensor in it. The S14 Auto speed sensor is physically different (It just doesn’t fit).

You will get the CEL cuz the CPS sensor won’t be plugged in (it goes on the top of the bellhousing and the S13 trannies don’t have that hole on their bellhousing).

As far as I know, the S13 subframe is slightly different. It won’t exactly bolt up the S14 chassis. You’ll have to make it bolt up. Also, any driveshaft from the S13 will be useless on the S14. You must get an S14 driveshaft (ABS or non-abs, make sure you know which one you need).
