I need to know the following usdm part numbers for parts which will work on my s14 blacktop…
Oil Filter
Belts
Plugs
PCV Valve
any other general items which should be replaced before swap
I found one site but i’m not sure what parts differ in the s13 and s14 engines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m trying to get my swap done asap since I have no car to get around. If anyone could also lend some helping tips on doing s14 swap into s14 chassis I would also really appreciate it. Thanks!!
I’ve got a brand new S14 SR intake manifold gasket still in the plastic from Nissan, picked up the wrong one. If you want let me know, retail is $40, i’ll sell for $30.
NOTE the S14 SR vvti oil filter is dif from the s13 sr. The S14 oil filter is the same as the 2002 altima 2.5L Belts are the same alt, water pump, crank is 370k5 at canadian tire and the P/S is a 340k3 and is kinda hard to find.
The PCV valve is right on top of the engine and take less then 2 min to change just pull it out and take it ti CT and match it up.
Great thanks for the info, I herd from my buddy Bruce that you know your stuff. I had a question, how can I tell what kind of s14 sr I have by looking at it? I’m not sure which it is.
The s14 VVt motor has a modual on the intake valve that sticks out a bit so the valve cover has a little bump out in it on the front side of the int. side. You can’t miss it.
There are more, but this is the most obvious. It is more than likely that you would know if it was an s14 engine cause they are more rare and pricier too.
Which plugs seem to perform best on SR’s? Also, I thought the oil filter for s14 is from 95+ Sentra SER? That’s what I found on Nico. Also those belts that Chris posted, I read somewhere that s14/s15 belts are thinner or something? Just curious, I want to go buy all the parts I need but want to make sure I get the correct ones.
all the part #'s ect are exactly what I just put on the vvti I instaled last week. We tried the SER filter and I think it was the same as the KA and s13 sr but will not fit the vvti s14 sr.
Thanks for the info, I just thought I would clarify that. I’ll make sure I get the Altima one when I goto the store this week. I’ve also read that the Dodge Neon rad hose when trimmed a bit works really well with stock KA rad and sr? I think the Gates part number is 20893. Do you recomend changing the clutch? I can’t afford a good performance clutch right now, do you think oem replacement will hold up for now?
Jsut so you know a 350Z oil filter will also work. Ive been running that on my S14 for the past two weeks.
Sparks plugs, DOnt remember the exact code but check out my spark plug preferences thread and get the NGK 6s for now cause the 7’s are hard to find.
You will need a US speed sensor for your tach to work unless you have a JDM gauge. Id get that installed with the engine out cause its so much easier.
As for the clutch if you dont have the money for an upgraded one I would skip it. BUT its a risk cause if the clutch is dead you’ll have to pull it anyways.
Negative, Since you have an auto tranny the speed sensor wont fit. YOu need a US/CDN speed sensor from a 5spd and good luck finding one of those. I still havent found a used one so Im going with a JDM cluster.
Oh I gotcha. Damn that sucks, and my clip didn’t come with a cluster like it should have. So does the tach just not work or the speedo too? Sorry if thats a dumb question. Thanks.
