Salvage memory from damaged laptop?

Hello guys,

Just wondering if anyone here can let me know who can access and transfer all the memory from my old laptop to my new laptop. My old computer still starts, but I think I damaged the hard drive disc when I slammed the lid closed the other night. Now it will not load windows and says there is an error reading the disc. It was working fine up until then.

Put it in an external enclosure and pop it in the freezer. Might be overheating. If you damaged the internal stuff to badly from the whole slamming down thing, your only option is to pay like 400$ to a data recovery service. they basically take your hard drive apart and put the disks into a special machine.

Thank you. I found a guy that is going to try and retrieve the data for me and transfer it to my new laptop.
