Same side inlet/outlet intercoolers

Just wondering how an intercooler with the inlet and outlets on the same side performs vs. the inlet and outlet being on opposite sides like most of the Intercoolers we see are. reason i’m wondering is i’m looking to pick one up and i could run the piping the same as my current SR stock piping is run with it’s side mount with both pipes going into and comming out of the bumper being the driver’s side head light.

opinions?

tests?

Facts?

All appriciated guys (and girls) thanks!!

i think it doesnt really matter since the air changes directions twice anyways it all depends on the pressure, more front mounts are on opposite sides, i guess the ones on the same sides are lower performance cause they more often come stock, and front mounts are higher performances, if your not looking to make lots of power it doesnt really matter i’d say

Aiming for 450-500WHP within 5 years… but i can always swap intercoolers later.

It all comes down to plumbing - you want the shortest and easist plumbing. If the turbo outlet and TB are on the same side, then it make sense to have a same side I/O FMIC.
