hey gents,
having a multi-week situation here. we have the service provider’s modem and a better wifi router (ASUS RT-AC68U Dual band). my phone, most people’s phones, all our ipads etc. etc. connect to wifi without issue.
couple weeks ago i bought my wife a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7.
Having huge connectivity issues with it. no matter what we do we cannot get it to find the home network. we even went to take it back at the mall and when we went into the mall the phone found all of the wireless networks there. so this is unique to the phone/router. however, i will also say, that my mother in laws phone (LG, android) also cannot find the home network.
did all the plug/unplug games on the router/modem. did the factory resets on the S7 the first day or so as well. nothing helped. called ISP (Rogers) and they refreshed their modem on their end… didnt help. googled the shit out of it and even did some youtube tutorialing… still nothing.
i have the log in credentials for the router now… how can we get this done so that my wife doesnt get crazy data charges when at home?
