I never thought I would have to say this but my car was unfortunately totaled today. I was at work while my best friend/mechanic had the car because it was in limp mode (bad O2 sensor) and needed an inspection. He had just put gas in it and was driving down Transit when someone in a Cutlass tried to make a left hand turn onto Clinton. He attempted to turn, hesitated and hit the brake and then hit the gas again at the last second. He ended up smashing the Mini in the driver side door and sent it airborne off of the curb and onto a large pile of rocks. He missed a traffic pole by about a foot and is lucky to be alive. The man in the Cutlass however decided to flee the scene because he had no license due to a prior alcohol conviction. Thankfully someone who saw the entire thing followed him and called the sheriff who caught him about a mile down the road. He was arrested and luckily had insurance on the vehicle.
I will be dealing with the insurance company tomorrow and hopefully it won’t be to much of a hassle. I am interested to see what I get for the car but I fear I won’t get as much as it’s worth to me. I also have no idea what I want to do from here. I should probably just buy another R53 but other cars are tempting. For now just enjoy the pictures of the damage!
