Two men survive after car cuts tree in half, flips over
Two men were fortunate to survive, without serious injuries, a one-car accident early Sunday morning at the intersection of Newport Way and State Route 900.
Issaquah police said the car hit an electrical box, cut a tree in half and flipped over in the crash that occurred about 3 a.m.
The 2005 BMW M3 was totaled, police said.
The driver and passenger both left the scene of the crash but were found by police in the area a short time later.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated, police said, adding that both men were wearing seat belts.
The accident is under investigation, police said, adding that speed definitely was a factor in the crash.
